“Want to connect with nature and spirit? Take a look at Sandra Noel’s poetry. Her words, her love of the natural world, her insight and wisdom will carry you away into a magical, real world where observer and observed and reader are one. She is one of my favorite nature poets writing today.”

“You will find great eco-literature in these poignant poems by Sandra Noel – with precise diction and great observation, she shows reverence for the earth and all her creatures, mourning for the same when man disrupts or destroys the delicate balance simply for greed or abuse of power. She cautions us that what is gone is gone. Will the melting of icebergs and the disappearing polar bears give us “50 words for loss / when we are finally done?”
—Koon Woon, author of The Truth in Rented Rooms, and Water Chasing Water.

“In a tea shop in the Autumn of 2012 on top of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, the seeds for ‘Three Birds Dreaming’ were thrown. Sandra and I committed to writing a poem a day, sharing them with each other through email. A few months later, our third bird Joanna Conom joined our small flock. We’ve been writing ever since!”

“Into the Green is about migrations, large and small, hemisphere to hemisphere. The poems also explore the migrations within the hemispheres, islands, homes, ponds and beaches. In the Southern Hemisphere moving are sea turtles, the Southern Cross, flying foxes. In the Northern Hemisphere, in motion are the heartbeat of a vole underground, geese flowing in a river of sky. The poems, combining the celebratory with the heartbreaking, tells us how “…we are all connected/ wing to heart/ leaf to root/ predator to prey…”
—Ann Spiers, author of Bunker Trail
